“Mujer Valiosa” Pilot debuts at COICOM Conference in El Salvador
October 4-7, Latin evangelical communicators gathered for the 15th annual COICOM conference in the city San Salvador. World Mission Broadcast South America took advantage of the opportunity to debut the pilot television program “Mujer Valiosa” (Valued Woman) to the more than 3,000 Christian communicators.
“In our first attempt at television, we have seen God provide time and again. COICOM was no exception to that,” say Brian Utter, Regional Communication Coordinator. “We have initially signed up to air on 141 television channels in 16 countries, including a large number of cable systems in the US.”
An agreement was made with the Unsión Network from Quito, Ecuador to be the satellite provider for the program. “The partnership with Unsión will allow us to provide the material to television channels at no cost to our ministry. God continues to open the possibilities to reach the lost through media,” say Utter. It is anticipated that by the launch of the program in February that more than 300 television channels will be on board.
Other exciting results of the week include the addition of the satellite radio network “CVC – A Sua Voz” as a distributor of the WMB Portuguese radio programs; 28 new Spanish radio affiliates and the possibilities of incorporating text messaging into the media broadcasts.
“Now more than ever we as a Church need to find creative, entertaining ways to break through this post-modern culture and present the reality of Jesus Christ,” says Utter.
